CEDIA Workshop: Intensive HDMI Boot Camp

It’s clear: HDMI technology is ubiquitous in today’s marketplace and it offers a fantastic single-cable solution for connecting consumer products together, but challenges still exist when implementing custom whole-home distributed video systems. Careful design is required before system installation when connecting multiple displays, spanning long distances using baluns, and incorporating HDMI matrix switches. This 8-hour hands-on course, developed and provided through a partnership between HDMI Licensing LLC, CEDIA and Quantum Data, will help electronic systems contractors understand HDMI technology and how to better design and troubleshoot complex HDMI systems.

By the end of this course students should be able to:

  • Identify design and installation best practices for distributed video systems using HDMI technology
  • Describe the best practices for testing system interoperability with products to ensure system reliability
  • Interpret and correct system failures over HDMI cables/products using established troubleshooting techniques with specific HDMI test equipment

This course is an 8-hour course with a minimum of 3 hours of hands-on training. In addition to the hands-on experience, all attendees will receive 6 Continued Education Units (CEUs).
